Story

We got this tea from an indigenous Taiwanese tea farmer who harvests from previously cultivated tea bushes that have gone feral. The bushes are untended and left to grow and adapt to nature. This tea tastes clean with a potent energy.

Description

A light curing over the most delicate charcoal embers has revived and deepened this Wild Lishan High Mountain Oolong harvested in Winter 2021. The floral and citrus notes are retained, and there is not a prominent toasty flavor, however the broth feels more rich and warming than the raw version.

Broth brews a golden hue, and coats the tongue and throat with a slippery texture and fragrant aftertaste. It has developed a big juicy texture. This wild tea has a strong presence in the body, a warm and cozy sensation that fills the chest and belly.

We like this version with a little roast on it better than the original, it has done well to show the personality of the tea more clearly. We find it to be an especially welcome guest during the colder months.

Note : I left the original photo of this tea before roasted up for you to compare. The main photo is the current state of the tea, and the second photo shows the raw leaf taken December 2021.
