2021 Winter Competition Style BaozhongFloating Leaves US
Baozhong is a brightly fragrant, open leaf oolong tea. The leaves are long, spindly and deep forest green. Although it is fragrant and green like high mountain oolong, Baozhong is more direct and straightforward. It's a very refreshing oolong.
We call this one Competition Style because it is made to win tea competitions. It is light bodied and floral with a jade colored broth.
The Chen family grows this tea in Pinglin, which is located in the Wenshan District of Taiwan. They do all the processing in house, start to finish, led by the hard working head of the family, Farmer Chen. Their good nature and hard work ethic lend their teas a delightful and sincere feeling.
Brilliant notes of flowers and freshly picked snappy beans. Fragrance is robust and bright with a round sugary sweetness. Broth is light on the tongue with a slight juicy texture.
Scent as it evaporates off the bottom of the cup has a marzipan-like powdery texture that only seems to show up in the most delicate green-oxidized oolongs. Aftertaste is sweet, leaving a floral fragrance in the mouth and sinuses.
Crisp, refreshing and delightful. Drink this tea to experience the freshness of oolong!
