Dong Ding Red Oolong

A 'Red Oolong' is similar to rolled Taiwanese black teas (like Alishan Black) or Hong Shui oolong, in that it is rolled tightly into little balls and oxidized until the notes reach deep into the baritone range of oolong; dark fruit and caramel. This tea was grown in Dong Ding.

Dry leaves have a powerful caramelized grain sweetness. Broth brews a deep golden-red color, and has a bold scent of dark, mature fruit and soy sauce. Broth is slightly juicy. Packs a strong caffeine kick like a lot of Dong Ding oolong.

Update 11/3/21 : After a fresh in-house roast this feels like a new tea! More clear with a richness like that of freshly baked rye bread and dark chocolate.
