Story

This white tea cake is from Yunnan, in the Lincang region of puer country. It was picked from old tea trees from the forest near Da Xue Shan. There are lots of fuzzy silver buds, which along with some more mature leaf material brew up a deep orange color.

Because it comes from old puer tea groves, it has a puer like feeling, although the flavor profile is fruity and juicy with a powdery white tea aroma.

Description

Dry leaves in a hot teapot give off a sweet, powdery aroma of apricot, plum and persimmon. Fresh, fruity and rich.

Broth is juicy and refreshing -- texture almost feels like a light cocktail of plum and cherry tomato! -- and a very long bittersweet chocolatey aftertaste. Old tree Yunnan terroir starts to show up deeper into the session. A big, calm puer-like energy that tingles, tickles and warms the body.

A very elegant, sweet and juicy tea with a clean feeling. Looking forward to how this tea will develop as it ages!

Brew it light like you might another white tea, or brew it strong for a more puer-like experience. This tea works well both ways.
