Story
The first release of Floating Leaves' own charcoal fired oolong, roasted right here in the Pacific Northwest. We are very proud to offer this clean, earthy tasting 'red water' oolong after months of hard work learning how to properly utilize charcoal fire to finish raw oolong tea. The raw tea base was harvested in Dong Ding, and the charcoal fire has brought out the big comforting energy and rich throaty aftertaste of Dong Ding grown teas.
Description
A rich, full bodied, clean tasting tea with earthy, woody, and chocolatey notes. Broth brews up deep red, and offers many infusions. Very flavorful with robust tea energy.
I've discovered that instead of one long roast, splitting into two shorter roasts and resting the tea in between, I can produce a tea that is juicier, plus has a stronger presence in the throat and under the tongue. This version is rounder, fuller bodied and has less charcoal-y taste producing a cleaner finish.
This is a grounding, comforting tea that is very friendly to the experienced and uninitiated alike.
